Savoring Wine’s Good Looks and Tips for Smelling Wine

There are millions of people in the world who love wine. Of course, different people have different likings and same is the case with wine lovers. Some people like a particular type of wine and the others have their own favorite type.

But we all enjoy looking at the wine in our glass, amazed at how good it look in the glass, especially when it reflects the light. At that time I come in two minds – one to look at it like that for the rest of The evening, and the other mind wants to drink it in one go. That’s why it has such an appearance – to look good and to attract people to drink it.

But , in case if you really want to observe the wine appearance then order a high quality wine from a genuine online liquor store such as Lovescotch.com. Pour the wine in your glass, tilt a (half-full) glass away from you and then carefully look at the color of wine against a light background, such as white wall, table cloth or a piece of paper (as colored background distorts its color).

Then notice how intense or how light the color of wine is and whether the color is more intense in the middle or at the edge, where it touches the glass.  Also notice if the wine is cloudy, clear or brilliant. This thing needs practice, and eventually you will start noticing patterns, such as deeper colors even in yellowish red wines.

Tips for smelling wine

When it comes to savoring your wine, you should also know how to smell a wine. It comes handy when you are trying new wines, so as to know the ingredient and the smoothness of the wine. But here are the following things which you should keep in mind while smelling your wine:

·        Be bold. Place your nose right in the place over the glass where the aromas are captured.

·        Don’t wear a strong perfume as it will compete with the smell of the wine.

·        Don’t knock yourself out smelling a wine when there are strong food aromas around. As once I smelt the aroma of tomatoes in my wine, which I later came to know, was coming from the pasta sauce.

·        Become a smeller. You have to develop the habit of smelling , b y smelling  your food while cooking, smelling the fresh fruits and vegetables you buy at the supermarket, and even should try to smell environment — like leather, wet earth, flowers, grass, shoe polish, that’s it. All I want to say was to stuff you memory with different smells so as to make it easy to smell your wine.

Try different techniques of sniffing. Some people like to take a short sniff while others like to inhale properly while smelling something. But the best thing to do that is by keeping your mouth a bit open while smelling something to get the right aromas
